Building Strength for Generations

Swafford Construction has been designing small and large construction projects with fine detail, in the Miami Valley, Centerville, Springboro, and Oakwood, Ohio areas, for over 50 years.

The Swafford building legacy began in the early 1900’s as a first generation logging operation in Tennessee. As the business was passed on to the second generation, the business was expanded from producing the building materials to also offer construction services which resulted in a great competitive advantage for the business and it’s customers. Due to the rapid development of the Dayton area in the 50’s, the vision to grow the company resulted in a move from Tennessee to Dayton.

As originally known, Swafford Remodeling was established in 1958 by Al Swafford in Dayton, OH. This group of master carpenters and cabinet makers focused the business on a wide spectrum of residential projects throughout the Miami Valley. Some of these original customers are still customers today.

The growth and success of the residential business lead to the foundation for the commercial aspect of the business. The portfolio of projects in the 1970’s and 1980’s included large commercial renovation projects such as Sears and JC Penney. It was at this time that Allen Swafford (fourth generation) became heavily involved with the company as project manager, and in 1996 upon the retirement of his father, became the sole owner of the company. Allen continues to be a very active part of the company maintaining the level of quality that has been provided throughout the legacy of this company.

As the company grew, Swafford Remodeling became Swafford Construction Company LLC and relocated to Troy, OH where it is currently located. Today, Swafford Construction is a leading General Contractor with over 50 years of experience and more than 5000 projects completed. Swafford’s commitment to excellence is found throughout the Miami Valley. Swafford Construction has expanded from residential projects to include a variety of commercial projects from retail, medical, institutional, industrial and professional. The residential projects involve custom whole house renovation or custom new home construction to custom cabinets and furniture fabrication. Swafford’s versatility and lasting value have made its mark on the region.

Customer confidence is very important to us. From the outset of each project, Swafford develops dialogue to insure we understand our customer’s day-to-day needs and limitations during the project to cause minimal disruption. The process leads to extensive planning that is designed to accommodate both present and future needs

We have employees that have been with us for many years. We feel it is because they know what we stand for and strive to meet those expectations taking pride in what they accomplish.
